Social Entrepreneurship Forum 2017

Social Entrepreneurship Forum will take place in Riga already the eighth time. And this time social entrepreneurs and representatives of conventional businesses are meeting with the goal of creating collaborative opportunities to solve common social challenges. Ideas and solutions for ways in which both types of entrepreneurs can develop meaningful partnerships will be sought through inspirational stories, presentations, and discussions on three important themes—employment, the B2B cooperation model, and the creation of resilient communities.

Social enterprises such as DP Productionthe Wooden Architecture Foundation (Kalnciema Quarter), the Hummus Team, and the popular parent organization of Latvia Mammamuntetiem.lv will tell us about the work they do. Also, the street sports and culture movement Ghetto Games and the newly founded recruitment platform UpMatched, which uses chatbot technology to bring young people together with relevant employers, will share their stories. Conventional businesses Accenture Latvia and SEB Bank will outline their visions for meeting societal challenges and the experiences they have had in doing so.

Representatives of foreign businesses from Sweden, Denmark, and Italy will share their experiences of cooperation between social enterprises and conventional businesses. FERRERO (Italy), the world-famous sweets manufacturer, will tell about its experience in the world of social entrepreneurship. The social enterprise Grennessminde(Denmark), which delivers organic produce to Copenhagen’s famous Noma restaurant, will share its experience of employing young people with special needs and creating various models for cooperation. And the rising star of start-ups, Just Arrived (Sweden), will present its experience of creating a platform for employment opportunities for refugees.
